South Warwickshire optometry practices

As our newest service, Community Eyecare have partnered with our local community optometrists to be able to deliver Minor Eye Condition Services on the high street.

Conditions eligible to be seen include:

  • Systematic disease affecting the eye (comorbidities)
  • Foreign body and emergency contact lens removal
  • Blepharitis
  • Glaucoma referral refinement (IOP)
  • Monitoring of OHT/low risk glaucoma with normal visual fields (following diagnosis and stabilisation by Tier 4)
  • Retinal lesions
  • Amblyopia (Lazy eye)
  • Choroidal Naevus suspicion
  • Chalazion (more complex than tier 1)
  • New onset floaters and flashes
  • Trichiasis
  • Low vision services
  • Epiphora (watery eye)
  • Abrasion
  • Posterior vitreous detachment
  • Episcleritis
  • Cysts
  • Inflammation
  • Pterygium
  • Meibomian gland dysfunction
  • Allergies
  • Cysts
  • New onset flashes and floaters –before 6 weeks (complex)

The service has generated a fantastic outcome for patients with over 1000 patients being seen every month.

How do you get a referral?

If you have a minor eye condition amenable to this pathway, your optician or GP will refer you to our efficient Referral Management and Triage service. You will hear within a few days of the potential location and time of the appointment.
